Tongue Thrusting Resources

Tongue thrusting is when the tongue goes between the upper and lower teeth when a person swallows. This can make problems with the bite difficult or impossible to correct during orthodontic treatment as well as reopen the bite after orthodontic treatment has been completed.

If Dr. Estes or Dr. Brehnan have talked to you or your child about a tongue thrust habit these are some great resources to help retrain the tongue.

If you would like more help with correction of this important problem please ask Dr. Brehnan or Dr. Estes for a referral to see a myofunctional therapist.
